Wednesday Chat: Getting Ready for Spring

And a good Wednesday morning to all of you! Valentine’s Day is almost upon us and that means that we need to be getting our shops ready for St. Patrick’s Day, spring, and Easter. Easter is late this year, after the middle of April. How are you getting your shop ready for spring and the upcoming holidays? Chat away in the comments.

  1. For each upcoming holiday, I rearrange my shop to feature the holiday items, followed by the next holiday. I put the last holiday’s items at the back of my store. So I have Valentine’s items all over the front of my shop right now, through Friday. The St. Patrick’s Day items are towards the front. Sometime over the weekend, I will move the Valentine’s items to the back, the St. Patrick’s items to the front followed by the spring and Easter items. It’s a bit time-consuming, but it’s worth it to me — I think it brings increased views & possibly sales.

  2. I have been renewing the items that seem like good fits for Valentine’s Day over the past few weeks (an item every other day or so) – so my beaded heart rings have been prominent. After this week, I’ll be sure to renew the few items I have that are appropriate for St. Patty’s Day. I actually have some lampglass leprechaun earrings, so those will be front and center – and I’ll probably feature them. I’d love to be able to say I’m making new items for the upcoming holidays, but I’ve been buried with other time commitments lately.

I am, however, currently creating a new black-on-black beaded mens’ ring. The seed beads are different sizes, so the ring will have a neat texture. Looking forward to getting that listed in time for Father’s Day.
